Christian Boarding Schools for Teens
In today's world there is high pressure and tension between teens and their parents. They have to face many problems and work together through this pressure. When parents find their teen making poor decisions, increasingly choosing destructive behavior and choosing high-risk troubled teens as friends, they finally realize that their teen is in trouble. Then pro-active and caring parents try to find an excellent program or some kind of treatment for their teens to put them back on the right track. Out of the many choices of teen treatment or program options, a Christian boarding school for troubled teens is designed exclusively for the purpose of redirecting unmotivated and troubled Christian teens. Christian schools are normally created for teens that are between the ages of 6 to 18.
Christians have a powerful belief in their religion and they are proud that their religion is a part of their lives. Parents always encourage their teenagers believe in Christianity and God. When the Christian family faces a troubled teen, first of all they pray. After that they try everything to help their teenagers. When medication and therapy fails, they move to Christian camps and schools. Christian schools use Christian-based solutions for troubled teens who are rejecting their Christian tradition and rebelling against parental authority.
Finding out the real problem of the teen is difficult just from talking to the teen, but their parents can provide some insight. They don’t get an excuse to give up the treatment. They use the Bible for their treatment, teaching the troubled teen that God reminds everyone about the importance of two things: One is their relationship with God and the other is their relationship with others. They read the Bible and encourage their students to read it. Their reasoning is that by reading the Bible the teen may be able to face many of their problems in life.
In spite of what their behavior was, teen boys or girls want to have a close and supportive relationship with their parents. Teen boys and girls always spend very little time with their parents due to school or peer pressure. This creates differences between the teen and their parents. Parents are also busy when the teen is at home, so they have very little time to communicate with each other. This creates some of the future problems in the teenagers which are not obvious to their parents. The art of skillful listening is very important and the Bible advises us to "be quick to listen, slow to speak".
Christian schools are created to provide discipline and structure. They make their school a Christian home environment. The school encourages teenagers to follow Scriptural solutions for their problems. Including behavior modification, the teens deal with key aspects of a young man’s life, which include educational, social, emotional and physical aspects. They also remove the selfishness and laziness from the teen. Teens from Christian families that have a problem of entitlement who have started dressing like a gang member and using rough language can also benefit from Christian boarding schools. They don’t believe in God and don’t read the Bible. The teachers motivate them to read the Bible regularly.
Troubled teens are often confused and frightened. Their defiance, anger, and rebellion reflect their confusion and fear. Many Christian parents find that Christian boarding schools are the most effective for their troubled teens. Jesus Christ is proclaimed in all of these schools and programs. Many troubled teens do not have a good relationship with their parents. Parents should try to make their relationship better with their teen and offer good guidance. Whenever they neglect this relationship, they leave their teen without a mentor.
